Philip Benfield

Ryan Salter:

  • Over 20 years of paramedical experience operating in a wide range of specialist and managerial roles. I have completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic). I have also completed a variety of other qualifications and courses associated with previous roles including Cert IV in Training and Assessment, Diploma of WHS, Clinical Simulation courses, Diploma of Outdoor Recreation and I am a licenced motorcycle riding instructor. I have experience in a range of specialist ambulance positions including Motorcycle Rapid Response Paramedic, Motorcycle Paramedic Riding Instructor, Special Casualty Access Team (SCAT) Paramedic, Helicopter Critical Care Paramedic and Down the Wire Rescue Crewman. I have also worked in a variety of management positions up to a Superintendent level, managing numerous ambulance stations, paramedics and projects throughout NSW. Critical Care Helicopter Paramedics (CCP) and Special Casualty Access Team (SCAT) paramedics are Intensive Care Paramedics who provide high quality pre-hospital care to patients in any location or environment. These roles involve bushcraft and survival skills, advanced roping, vertical rescue, caving, canyoning, mountaineering, mines rescue, leadership, teamwork, chemical biological and radiological procedures, four wheel driving, navigation, swift water rescue and water survival. Helicopter CCP’s provide advanced clinical intervention as part of a Dr/Paramedic Medical Team and maintain additional qualifications as Down the Wire Rescue Crewman for helicopter search and rescue operations, and remote area access and patient extrication.
